Meet the Founder
Thomas Coleman was born in Travelers Rest, SC and graduated from the prestigious American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC. Crafting beautiful buildings runs in his blood, as his great grandfather was a builder and farmer who constructed the historic Greek revival home that Thomas grew up in. Inspired by his family history, and an ever-present fascination with building from a young age, Thomas knew that attending the American College of the Building Arts would be the best pathway for his career ambitions.
During his four years at the college, Thomas focused his studies on timber framing and became a master carpenter, with expertise in renovating many of Charleston’s historic structures. With over a decade of new build and renovation experience under his belt, Thomas brings his talent, expertise, and passion for building beautiful spaces to each new project. His work has been featured in ETV’s “This Old House,” and Magnolia Network’s “Classic Home Show,” to name a few.
Prior to founding Hygge Construction, Thomas worked as a project manager and builder for Charleston-based home renovation and custom build firms Artis Construction, and Timber Artisans.
